People will tell you to "count your blessings" when you get upset. That's all well and good, but when you're down in the dumps, it can be a real struggle to genuinely appreciate the good things in your life. So, why wait? Appreciate them now. When you wake up in the morning, think about what you're grateful for. When you lie down at night, think about what you're grateful for. And any time during the day that you've got nothing better to do, think about all the things you love in your life, and put a smile in your heart so that, when you need a little extra sunshine, you'll be able to find it inside yourself.
God Bless & Happy New Year! Make it a good one; it is up to you!

Not all tears are bad
So many people try so hard not to cry. It doesn't seem like it does any good. And yet sometimes, you just need to cry. It's not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of knowing yourself. And how can you be truly happy when you are denying yourself something you need? Be realistic. Know that you cannot be entirely happy 100% of the time; when you need a moment away, take it. Allow yourself the solace of tears, but don't let them overwhelm you. Tears have a time and a place, but don't let the rain prevent you from seeing the rainbow.

Your Kind of Peace
There is little in life more destructive to the spirit than anger. And there is little in life more nourishing than joy. But how do we find joy when we are angry?
Instead of screaming, crying, or hitting a wall, do something that will make you happy. For me, it's dancing to songs with a fast beat. For my best friend, it's looking at the jokes on Cheezburger.com. For others, it's dressing up, going for a run, or having coffee with a trusted confidante. Find what it is in your life that can make you happy no matter how unhappy you feel and make a conscious effort to engage in this activity regularly, especially during those times in which you are most in need of a little extra happiness.
